Positions available on the Board of Trustees
Lothian Autistic Society is keen to strengthen and expand its Board of Trustees and is seeking applications from anyone interested in supporting the running of the organisation. The Board of Trustees is the governing body of the society and is responsible for making sure that we deliver on our aims and objectives. The Board meets monthly around 10 times a year for around two hours, generally of an evening (although some daytime meetings can be scheduled). We are looking for enthusiastic people who want to make a positive difference to the lives of autistic children and young people and their families and carers. Although an awareness of the challenges faced by families affected by autism is desirable it is not essential, an open mind, a willingness to learn and a desire to contribute would be.
The Board is particularly keen to recruit suitable candidates for the roles of Company Secretary and Company Treasurer and members with a legal or financial background. We offer training for board members on their role and responsibility and other aspects of the governance of the society.
If you are interested and would like to get a bit more information on what being on the Board entails, please contact Mike Penny, CEO, in the first instance, firstname.lastname@example.org
